How to Set Up Student Refund Preferences

Below are steps for students to manage or enroll in Refunds with Nelnet.

    1. Log in to myNOVA.
    2. Click on SIS: Student Information Center.
    3. Click on the Tuition & Payments tile, and then Pay My Bill bbutton.
    4. Click on Manage Refunds.
    5. Enroll in Dual Authentication/Mobile Alerts by entering your phone number.
    6. Enter code received. Click Submit.
    7. Enter your bank information and click Save.
    8. Your profile will now appear and you can Edit/Remove Refund Method.

Additional Information

  • NOVA processes refunds through Nelnet Campus Commerce.
  • Refunds may take up to 14 business days after the refund is posted to a student’s account in SIS.
  • Direct Deposit (ACH): Refunds are usually deposited within 8 to 14 business days after the refund is posted to a student’s account.
  • Credit Card Payments: If you paid your tuition charges by credit card using Nelnet Campus Commerce and are due a refund, the refund will be credited back to the same credit card within 2 to 3 business days after it is posted to your account. If the credit card refund fails due to the closure of the credit card, the refund will be processed based on your Nelnet refund preferences within 8 to 14 business days after it is posted to your account.
  • Default Delivery Method: NOVA's default refund delivery method is by check, which may take up to 10 to 14 days AFTER the refund is posted to your account. The check will be sent to the mailing address on record in SIS for you.
