Ways to Host International Faculty at NOVA

Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program

Assists U.S. higher education institutions in expanding programs of academic exchange, by supporting non-U.S. scholars through grants for teaching at institutions that might not have a strong international component and/or serve minority audiences. Both the U.S. institution and the scholar grantee benefit from this experience.

Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program

Grants for scholars from other countries to conduct research, lecture or pursue combined lecturing and research in the U.S. Scholars must have a host affiliation in the U.S.

Fulbright Outreach Lecturing Fund

Funding for U.S. institutions to host Fulbright Visiting Scholars, already in the United States, for short-term speaking engagements. Outreach Lecturing Fund seeks to build relationships with institutions that are currently underrepresented within the Fulbright Program as a means to promote future opportunities.

NOVA's J1 Scholar Policy and Procedures

NOVA may directly sponsor a professor/professional who is currently based overseas to come to NOVA for an individual lecture, short- or long-term teaching contracts through a J1 scholar visa. Funding needs to be secured in advance.
