Stacey Bustillos
Associate Director, International Students and Outreach
Stacey Bustillos oversees NOVA’s international student services team. Her career in the international education field started in 2000 where she worked for several international education non-profit organizations in Washington DC administering academic and cultural exchange programs for students and scholars from around the world. She started working at NOVA in 2011 supporting international education efforts related to sponsored programs, study abroad and now international students. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs from Miami University of Ohio and a master’s degree in International Education from George Washington University. She is originally from Ohio but has called Virginia home many years with ties to Peru where her husband originates. She has two sons, one of which is a former NOVA student.
Camila McTighe
Senior International Compliance Advisor
Camila McTighe was born in Brazil and moved to the US in 2005. She developed a passion for learning languages while enrolled in ESL. She has studied English, Spanish and Italian. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and a Post-graduate certificate in Media from the UNISUAM. She is currently working toward a master’s degree in Public Administration. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her son and teaching him Portuguese, practicing Yoga and Tai Chi, and cooking for her family and friends. She is thrilled to be serving the international students community at NOVA!
Rosie Murillo
International Student Advisor
Rosalba "Rosie" Murillo-Alvarado earned her B.A. degree in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. She has worked as an International Student Advisor at institutions in both New York and Virginia since 2000, and started working at NOVA in 2019. Rosalba is passionate about helping foreign students in the U.S. reach their academic goals. During her spare time, she enjoys being in the outdoors and doing physical activities especially running in short marathons. Rosalba is originally from Colombia. Her greatest motivation in life is spending time with her daughter and being part of her development.
Haruka Fesi
International Student Advisor
Haruka Fesi was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan. She has lived in Montreal, Canada, New York City, Philadelphia, and now lives in Alexandria, Virginia. Her drive to support international students comes from her own experience as an F-1 visa undergraduate student. Haruka holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychological Studies from Temple University. She is currently working toward a Master's degree in International Higher Education Administration. Outside of work, her hobbies include rock climbing, yoga, baking sourdough bread, and cooking!
Di Hu
International Student Advisor
Di “Didi” Hu started out at NOVA as an international student from China in 2013 and started working with OIS in 2015 supporting the international admissions team. She is now an International Student Advisor. Before she came to the US, Didi worked in Dubai and Seychelles as a guest relations representative in Hospitality Management. She enjoys working with NOVA students from all over the world and believes each of our students will succeed in their studies. She is fond of cooking, exercising, and appreciating art and movies.
Jose Merino Brito
International Admissions Specialist
Jose Merino was born in Brazil and grew up speaking Portuguese and Spanish. At the age of 8, he studied abroad, learning French. In 2005 he came to the United States eventually pursuing an Associate degree at NOVA where he also worked in the NOVA Admissions office where his enthusiasm in guiding students on their educational paths was first developed. He has an undergraduate degree in Financial Planning from George Mason University but despite the rewards in the financial sector, Jose has found greater satisfaction in assisting students with their educational endeavors.
