Transferring Into the Nursing Program

Transferring Into the Nursing Program

To qualify for transfer into the NOVA Nursing Program a student must:

  • have successfully completed at least one semester of an accredited RN program, from within the VCCS system. Only coursework completed at an VCCS program will be considered for credit at NOVA’s nursing program.
  • be in good standing at their current school and have a letter of recommendation from their Dean.
  • meet all current NOVA program requirements.
  • have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.
  • complete a transfer interview with the Dean of Nursing or designee.

Admission is not guaranteed. An applicant who has been out of a nursing program for over one calendar year must apply as a new student. 25% of the degree must be completed at NOVA, therefore transfer for only the last semester is not allowed.
