Annual Planning and Evaluation Reports (APERs) for Administrative and Campus Units
The Office of Strategic Insights supports administrative unit staff to ensure that each unit is advancing NOVA’s mission and strategic plan, thereby enhancing administrative effectiveness (SACSCOC Standard 7.3) and student outcomes (SACSCOC Standard 8.2.c) at the college. Each administrative unit reports on its expected outcomes. Expected outcomes are linked to a strategic metric below.
- Yield Rate
- Enrollment
- Course Success
- Retention
- Completion
- Transfer
- Employment
Administrative and Campus Units report on four areas:
- Expected Outcomes – Subunits develop a goal to impact the strategic metric.
- Strategic Metric – Subunits identify the strategic metric they will impact.
- Measure and Target – Subunits describe how they will achieve the expected outcome and provide a specific percentage, number, or data point that the subunit aims to achieve.
- Planning – Subunits describe the strategies or tasks to attain the expected outcome.
- Results – Subunits present the data broken out by demographics, if possible. Strengths and weaknesses of the results are reported.
- Use of Results – Subunits determine if current results improved, indicate whether the target was met, outline areas needing improvement, and develop an action plan for continuous improvement.
