Hong Xu has lived in Manassas Park since 2000 and was appointed to the NOVA College Board by the Manassas Park City Council in 2024. He previously served on the same Board from 2009 to 2019, and on the Manassas Park School Board from 2015 to 2018.
As a first-generation immigrant from Shanghai, China, Mr. Xu has developed a life-long passion for helping children of immigrant families and first-generation college students navigate post-high school pathways.
Mr. Xu holds a J.D. degree from Cooley Law School, a M.S. degree from Utah State University, and a B.S. degree from East China University of Science and Technology. Mr. Xu recently retired from a long career as an in-house counsel at DuPont.
