Northern Virginia Community College certifies compliance with § 23.1-401.1.D. as noted below:
§ 23.1-401.1.D.1.
Northern Virginia Community College Policy 109 Speech and Expression is posted to the college public policy site and to the “Free Speech at NOVA” website, which is also linked from the nvcc.edu homepage.
§ 23.1-401.1.D.2.
Northern Virginia Community College has adopted materials on the policy developed by the Virginia Community College System. On November 30, 2023, these materials and links to the relevant VCCS and NOVA policies were sent by the college president to employees responsible for the discipline and education of students, including the Deans of Student Success, Academic Deans, Conduct Officers, Provosts, and Vice President for Student Affairs. The Campus Expressive Activities FAQ for Students, prepared by the Virginia Community College System, is also linked from the “Free Speech at NOVA” website.
§ 23.1-401.1.D.3.
No lawsuits against Northern Virginia Community College alleging a violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution have been filed since December 1 of the year preceding this report.
