On 11-19-2024 a NVCC student received an email from an alleged professor asking if they wanted a job. Upon reply saying yes, the student received two emailed checks from VCCS for office supplies. The student received instructions to also Venmo money back to another party. After venoming the money, the original check was recalled and the student was out of monies. There was another check deposited but the student did not Venmo any more money to them.

Report: Clery Burglary

Location: Arts and Science Building (NOVA Woodbridge Campus)
Reported Offense:
On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at approximately 12:51 P.M., NOVA Police received a report of a larceny from an office in the Arts and Science Building on the Woodbridge Campus. The victim reported a wallet being stolen from their bookbag, which was inside their personal office space on the first floor of the building. The larceny occurred at approximately 12:31pm. The suspect was also seen entering multiple classrooms on the first floor of the Arts and Science Building.

Suspect’s Description:
Black male, approximately 6’ feet tall, and approximately 200 lbs. The suspect was last seen wearing a red “Washington Commanders” hat, a white face mask, a white and grey North Face hoodie, red t-shirt, grey sweatpants, and white Nike shoes.

Report: Theft of Motor Vehicle

Location: Dawes Avenue (on-street parking) adjacent to the AE Building
Reported Offense:
On Thursday, November 7, 2024, at approximately 2:00 P.M., NOVA Police received a report of a motor vehicle that was stolen while parked on Dawes Avenue adjacent to the AE Building. The complainant stated they arrived on campus at approximately 10:30 A.M. and upon returning around 1:55 P.M., discovered the vehicle was missing.
The vehicle is described as a silver 2017 Hyundai Elantra with Virginia registration VCL #8442. Additional identifiers include two white zip-ties holding the splash guard of the front bumper, a small white line on the driver-side door handle, and a visible dent on the trunk.

The suspect has been identified and arrested in connection with this incident, and officers have recovered the victim's vehicle.

The suspect is described as a White/Hispanic male, of medium build, with dark curly hair, around 5 feet, 10 inches, wearing a dark-colored tank top, dark pants, and a dark-colored backpack.

The victim reported that they experienced symptoms consistent with being exposed to an unknown substance after consuming a beverage. The NOVA Police Department is investigating this incident. On Saturday, October 12, 2024, at approximately 8:03 A.M., NOVA Police received a report of a motor vehicle that was stolen while parked in the NOVA Alexandria Campus, Beauregard Garage. The vehicle was reported as a tan-colored Honda Accord, with Virginia registration TUA8777, that was parked on the 1st floor of the garage at approximately 5:10 P.M., on October 11, 2024. On October 12, 2024, the driver returned to his vehicle at approximately 7:00 A.M. and discovered his vehicle was missing. An unknown individual was seen entering the vehicle at approximately 4:32 A.M. on October 12, 2024, and then leaving the garage with the vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium build, wearing a light blue coat (with a patch on the sleeve), khaki color pants, white color shirt, white sneakers, wearing a dark color baseball cap and black bookbag.

Reported Offense: On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 4:24 pm NOVA Police received a report of a suspicious person. The subject was having a verbal altercation with a Fairfax Connector bus driver at the Bus Stop on the Loudoun Campus. During a follow-up investigation on October 4, 2024, an independent witness stated the subject had made verbal threats. No weapons were displayed during the event or when the suspect was encountered by police.
Update (Oct 7, 2024): The suspect has been identified and arrested. The suspect has no affiliation with NOVA and has also been issued a "No Trespass Order".

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at approximately 5:36 p.m. a student reported to NOVA Police the theft of his electric scooter. The scooter was locked to a bike rack located near the Bus Loop area by Bisdorf exterior door 2A1. An unknown individual removed the lock and rode off with the scooter at approximately 11:48 a.m.

The suspect is described as a black male, thin build, wearing a dark-colored shirt (unknown writing on it), black pants, light-colored shoes, baseball hat, and light color backpack.

On Saturday, July 6, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m. NOVA Police responded to the Beauregard Street Parking Garage (AP2), Level One for a report of vandalism (broken windows) to cars parked in the area. On Monday, July 8, 2024, at approximately 2:15 p.m. the continuing investigation revealed one of the vehicles had been entered and the ignition had been tampered with.

Suspect is described as a male, mid-20's with ear length dark hair and a moustache. Suspect was wearing a black t-shirt with white letters on the right chest area and on the back of the shirt, black shorts with white spots on them, knee length white socks, and grey and white sneakers.

Suspect last seen getting into a light-colored Toyota Rav 4 in the A1 parking lot at approximately 9:01 p.m. The vehicle was last seen exiting onto Wakefield Chapel Rd.
