Transfer and Admission Agreements

Transfer Agreements

NOVA offers transfer programs leading to an Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate of Science (A.S.) degree. These programs are designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.

To make your transfer process as smooth as possible, NOVA provides two types of transfer agreements:

  • Guaranteed Admission Agreements (GAA): Secure your admission to participating four-year institutions.
  • Articulation Agreements: Ensure the classes you take at NOVA transfer seamlessly to your chosen college or university.

Note: Some four-year colleges may accept certain Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) and Associate of Applied Arts (A.A.A.) programs. However, transfer policies vary by institution. Be sure to check with your intended college or university.

Guaranteed Admissions Agreements

With Guaranteed Admission Agreements, you can secure your place at more than 40 area colleges and universities by meeting the specific agreement requirements.

Articulation Agreements

Articulation Agreements are partnerships between NOVA and other institutions that ensure your courses transfer smoothly. These agreements help you plan your education with confidence, knowing that your credits will count toward your bachelor’s degree.
