The CCAMPIS Grant

Family obligations don’t have to interfere with your academic goals. CCAMPIS is a Federal Department of Education grant that helps pay for childcare so you can focus more energy on getting your degree and taking the next step in your career. NOVA is dedicated to providing support to students seeking childcare.

Who is this for? 

  • For parents and expecting parents.

What is included? 

  • Childcare payments, vouchers, or subsidies.
  • Programs and workshops focused on student-parent needs and interests.

What are the requirements?

  • You must have an active FAFSA on file with NOVA’s Financial Aid Office.
  • You must be Pell-eligible.
  • You must maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • You must first apply for childcare vouchers or subsidies. (If you are not currently using some type of childcare assistance program; you will be guided through the process of receiving childcare vouchers. Learn more about these subsidies and how to apply. )

How much does the childcare grant cover?

    • CCAMPIS awards on a sliding scale. 
    • Payments cover 30-95% of parents’ childcare costs. 
    • The grant is paid directly to the approved childcare center. 
    • The amount of grant received will be based on the parent's monthly childcare dues (including co-pays) and funding availability.
  • You can use this grant in combination with other childcare assistance.
  • You cannot use this grant to pay family or friends who watch your children.
  • Some summer camps may be eligible. 

How long can I get this grant money?

  • The goal of the program is to assist students as long as they are students at NOVA. Students will need to continue to meet the eligibility requirements of the program.
  • These funds are paid directly to the childcare provider under the stipulations of the federal grant for the period of time determined by the availability of funds.
