NOVA Graduate Uses Her Education to Follow Her Dreams
This past spring Olesea Sandulescu graduated from NOVA with an A.S. degree and is headed to Georgetown University in the fall as a premed student.
Olesea came to the United States a mere three and a half years ago from Moldova seeking an education that would lead her to her ideal career. When she came to Virginia to live with her brother she registered at NOVA and started taking a lower level math class.
“I told myself that if I could get through the first course, then medical school could be a reality for me,” said Olesea. It was a big deal for her to overcome a subject she had found challenging, especially since English wasn’t her native language.
Obtaining a solid academic foundation, Olesea is well on her way to making her dreams a reality.
