CARPENTRY FRAMING
Career Studies Certificate MA

Purpose: The career studies certificate in Carpentry Framing is designed to prepare students for the residential framing program, a specialized subcraft of carpentry, through classroom instruction and through the hands- on framing in new home construction. This work-based learning approach will develop skilled workers to address the skilled worker shortages. This program is a partnership between NVCC and the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association. It is a 26-week program with a maximum of 15 students enrolled in the program at any one time. Students attend class 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Entry into the program can occur at various points during the year. For admission, students must apply and go through an interview process.
