ACCOUNTING
Career Studies Certificate AL, AN, LO, MA, WO, ELI
Purpose: The curriculum will provide students with the accounting
courses needed to meet the requirements of the Virginia Board
for Accountancy as preparation to sit for the Certified Public
Accounting (C.P.A.) examination. Most jurisdictions, if not all,
require a baccalaureate degree in addition to other requirements
to sit for the C.P.A. examination. It is recommended that you
check with the accounting profession authority in the jurisdiction
in which you plan to take the C.P.A. examination.
These courses may also meet the accounting requirements for
other government and private sector positions.
* Graduation requirements are certified by a faculty advisor at a campus offering this major.
