This includes a diversity of career opportunities in areas such as airline sales and marketing, travel agency management, cruise and tour operations, and meeting and conference planning. Transfer Information: NVCC has formal articulation agreements for transfer to the B.S. in Business Administration-Hotel, Restaurant and Resort Management at Sierra Nevada College (Lake Tahoe, NV), and the Bachelor’s in College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada.
Total credits for the A.A.S. Degree in Travel and Tourism = 65. 1 If you are planning to transfer to another college or university, select a math course which is equivalent to the transfer institution’s requirement. 2 The PED requirement may be met by one of the following options: PED 116, 2 cr.; PED 116, 1 cr. Plus a PED activities course, 1 cr.; or PED 116, 1 cr. Plus RPK 205, 207, 208, 216, or 225. PED 116 is offered as both a 1- credit and a 2-credit course. 3 Check course descriptions for applicable prerequisites. 4 The social science elective may be selected from the following: economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, or sociology (includes anthropology). 5 Preapproved electives can be selected from any non-required course with a TRV or HRI prefix. See your faculty advisor for alternative procedures.
