[ NVCC Home Page | Catalog Search | Table of Contents | Instructional Programs | Previous Page | Next Page ] Purpose: The Patient Care Technician Certificate is designed to prepare multi-skilled health care practitioners to perform clinical functions in the pre-hospital environment including physicians' offices, urgent care facilities, and nursing homes. Students must comply with all General Admission Requirements for Annandale Campus Health Technology Programs. (See page 86.)
Total credits for the Patient Care Technician Certificate = 38. 1 MDL 100 meets the first 8 weeks of the semester. MDL 190 meets the second eight weeks. Upon successful completion of these two courses, students will be eligible to apply for phlebotomy certification. 2 Upon completion of NUR 190 students will be certified in First Aid and eligible to apply for Certified Nurse Assistant certification. 3 Upon successful completion of RAD 195 and one clinical diagnostic module students will be eligible to apply for licensure for Limited Radiography. 4 Six weeks, 36 hours per week = 216 clinical hours of clinical patient care.
