This requires vocabulary development, and enhanced processing, transliterating, and interpreting skills. Students will be prepared to take the Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (QAS) examination, passing it at a level sufficient to permit entry-level employment as a full-time or freelance professional interpreter in educational or governmental settings or private practice. Admission Requirements: Successful completion of SCM 230, Introduction to Interpreting, or consent of instructor based on demonstrably equivalent skill level.
Total Credits for the American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting Career Studies Certificate = 24.
