Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) serves the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William and the cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax, Manassas Park, and Manassas. NVCC strives to meet the educational and training needs of people with differing abilities, education, experiences, and individual goals through a variety of curricula and co-curricula programs and community services. Northern Virginia Community College consists of the Alexandria, Annandale, Loudoun, Manassas, and Woodbridge campuses, and the Extended Learning Institute. All of the campuses provide classrooms, laboratories, student services, counseling, faculty and administrative offices, a Learning Resource Center, a cafeteria, and a student lounge. Offices for college-wide services are on the Annandale Campus. These include the President's Office, Academic and Student Services, Academic Assessment, Affirmative Action/Minority and Legal Affairs, Budget, College Marketing and Public Affairs, Curriculum and Enrollment Services, Educational Foundation, Facilities Planning and Support Services, Financial and Administrative Services, Fiscal and Auxiliary Services, Grants Development, Human Resources, Institutional Research, Media Processing Services, Planning, Public Information and Publications, and Technical Support Services. These offices provide services to all five campuses and the Extended Learning Institute. The College operates on the semester system with 16-week fall and spring semesters and a shorter summer session. Many of the curricula at NVCC are available on all campuses. Some of the highly specialized programs are offered on only one or two campuses. NVCC provides a strong counseling program to assist you in making sound decisions regarding occupational, educational, and personal goals. A counselor will help you find the curriculum best suited to your interests and needs. The College also provides services in pre-college and freshman orientation, job placement, financial aid, testing, veterans affairs, and student activities.
