CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY
Associate in Applied Science Degree AL
Purpose: The curriculum is designed to qualify personnel in
both engineering technology and management for employment in
all areas of a construction firm. Occupational objectives include
engineering aide, construction project manager, construction
supervisor, estimator, and facilities planning and supervision.

To graduate from a degree program, students entering NVCC Fall
1999 or later must demonstrate computer competency skills as
described in the Degree Requirements section of the Instructional
Programs of this catalog.
*BLD and CIV courses are only offered on the Alexandria Campus.
1 Students transferring to a four-year college or university should consider taking MTH 163, 3 cr.; MTH 166, 5 cr.; or MTH 173, 5 cr. in lieu of MTH 115.
2 The PED requirement may be met by one of the following options: PED 116, 2 cr.; PED 116, 1 cr. plus a PED activities course, 1 cr.; or PED 116, 1 cr. plus RPK 205, 216, or 225. PED 116 is offered as both a 1-credit and a 2-credit course.
3 Students transferring to a four-year college or university should consider taking ENG 112 in lieu of ENG 115.
4 The social science elective may be selected from the economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, or sociology (includes anthropology) courses listed on pages 40-41. Students planning to transfer to a four-year degree program should consider taking HIS 102.
5 Technical elective courses must be approved by the program faculty advisor.
6 The SPD elective may be selected from the following: SPD 100, 110, 115, 126, 227 or 229.
