Purpose: The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration (HVAC-R) and Facilities Services Technology Career Studies Certificate is designed to prepare the student for entry-level positions in the air conditioning, refrigeration, and facilities maintenance industry. Students receive entry-level instruction in the principles, service, maintenance, repair, and installation of air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
1 Students who plan to work in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry or who plan to complete the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Certificate or A.A.S. degree should take AIR 154, while students who plan to work in facilities maintenance should take BLD 20. See your advisor for details.
2 The ENG/CST requirement may be met by ENG 111 or other ENG courses approved by your advisor, or by CST 100, 110, 115, 126, 227 or 229.
