Meteorite falls in Lorton!
On Monday, a meteorite crashed into a doctor's office in Lorton, Virginia! Smithsonian scientists confirm its identity as space rock. 220 mph at the moment of impact. Super cool.

Two things that make it even cooler for me - I used to drive past that dentist office every time I went down to Williamsburg, and I've been in the room where that photo was taken. (The Smithsonian meteorite collection is incredible.)
