Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Transfer Scholarship 2009
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program enables community college students with exceptional promise and demonstrated financial need to pursue a baccalaureate degree. Students in any discipline may apply.
The award provides funding for tuition, room and board, required fees and books for the remainder of the Scholar’s undergraduate degree. Scholarship amounts vary depending upon the individuals costs at the institution he or she attends as well as other grants or scholarships the individual may receive. Awards can be as much as $30,000 per year.
The NVCC Educational Foundation will offer a $500 to the two college nominees regardless of selection!
Conditions of Eligibility for NOVA Students:
- Must have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher,
- Must be a sophomore (30 semester credits earned) or a recent graduate (since May 2005),
- Must plan to transfer and enroll full time in an accredited four-year university for the Fall 2010 term,
- Must demonstrate financial need. Non U.S. citizens will demonstrate need through completion of financial forms.

Application Package: one printed copy of each required item to be submitted to the College Financial Aid Office, Attn: Sharon Sheridan.

- Printed copies of all documents, including documents submitted online.
- Two Letters of Recommendation (completed online by recommenders; printed copies to be submitted in sealed envelopes to NOVA, attn: Sharon Sheridan )

- Call your CAMPUS representative for an appointment to discuss the application procedures
- Review the Application Components Checklist. Be sure that all items are fully completed and signed as appropriate.
- Ask your CAMPUS representative to review your completed application.
- Submit application it to the College Financial Aid Office by the deadline.

NVCC Deadline: All applications must be completed and received by the College Financial Aid Office by December 11 (printed copies of the online application, sealed letters of recommendation, transcripts, and required financial forms must be included). You must send all required documents as a complete packet. Any missing items will automatically disqualify your application from submission. You must be nominated by the College. Two nominations will be forwarded to the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation by January 26, 2010. Submit completed applications to the College Financial Aid Office.
