NOVA offers athletic and fitness opportunities for all our students to enjoy including intercollegiate sports, intramural activities and fitness centers.

Intercollegiate Athletics

Find the latest schedules and rosters for your favorite NOVA sports team. As a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), NOVA competes against the top teams in the region in men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball and men's soccer. NOVA's ice hockey team is a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association's Blue Ridge Conference.

Check out the Athletics Directory to contact a coach for a specific sport. For more information on intercollegiate athletics, contact Brian Anweiler, college-wide student activities coordinator at 703.845.6206.

Student Athlete Participation Forms

NOVA student activities hopes you are as excited as we are about the start of the upcoming academic year. Please take the time to read and fill out the forms below. It is very important that you read and understand each item. Forms that need to be signed and returned are marked. If you are under 18 years of age, please make sure a parent or legal guardian signs the forms as well. Remember, you can not participate until each item is on file in the College-Wide Student Activities Office.

Intramurals

The Intramural Sports Program at NOVA wants to encourage the wellness of its community by providing opportunities to both students and faculty/staff to engage in fun, competitive and social activities. Grab some friends, sign up your student organization, or get a group of your fellow NOVA co-workers together and register for an Intramural Sports League or one of the various intramural tournaments.

There are plenty of sports and activities to choose from including soccer, flag football, bowling and basketball. The Intramural Sports Department is continually working to expand and offer new sports and activities; so be on the lookout for events that interest you!

For information or questions about NOVA’s Intramural Sports Program, please contact Jeff Dukat, College-Wide Intramural Sports and Recreation Specialist, at 703.845.6067 or email him at jdukat@nvcc.edu.

Fitness Classes/Facilities

Develop a strong mind and body. Spend time at one of NOVA's fitness facilities, join an intramural sports team or sign up for a fitness class. Fitness facilities are available at Alexandria, Annandale and Loudoun.

Take a class for credit or just for your own enjoyment. View the Schedule of Classes.
