New Student Orientation Sign Up
Congratulations, you are on your way to success! We are glad you decided to begin your academic career at NOVA. After registering for the Orientation Session of your choice, make sure to mark your calendars and check your email regularly for any updates.
To Do List
Before Attending the New Student Orientation:
- Complete NOVA’s Online Admission Application.
- Complete the NOVA application and take the English and Math Placement Tests.
- Review Degree Programs; Identify your primary and alternate options.
- Review Tuition Payment Methods.
- Sign up for New Student Orientation.
- Print New Student Orientation Agenda.
- For students interested in the Medical Education Campus-View the online information session.
- Check to see if you need to bring any additional documentation.
Day of New Student Orientation
- Bring a pen or pencil, placement test results and notebook paper.
- Free parking will be available in any visitor or student lot, except on:
The Alexandria Campus where free parking is only in the Dawes Avenue Garage. If parking in a garage, please validate your parking ticket at check-in.
The Annandale Campus where free parking is available in the Visitor Parking Garage only. Bring the parking garage ticket to the check-in desk in CE Forum where it will be stamped. Anyone who receives a citation because they mistakenly used the surface parking rather than the Visitor's Garage will need to turn the citation to the Business Manager within
24 hours to ensure citation is dismissed.

MEC programs have separate requirements for admission and prospective students should participate in an information session in-person or online before attending your campus NSO.
Students who have been accepted into the Pathway to the Baccalaureate Program should attend one of the designated NSO sessions at the Alexandria, Annandale or Loudoun Campuses. If you are a Pathway Program student and cannot attend one of these sessions, please contact your Pathway Counselor or call the Pathway Program Office at 703.323.3359 for alternate instructions.
