Biology

The Biology Department is part of the Science and Applied Technologies Division. If you have any questions about the department, please contact Marion Lobstein at 703.257.6643.

To reach the Biotechnology Department, please contact Dr. B.J. Ellis at 703.257.6648. If need to reach a member of the lab staff contact Alen Karamian at 703.530.8246 or Brenda Rodman at 703.257.6518.

Our Biology Department, in cooperation with George Mason University and the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC), is currently developing a program in biotechnology which will eventually encompass several degree and/or certificate programs. This is due in part to the growing need for trained technicians and other lab personnel in Washington -- more specifically in Manassas. Eli Lilly, a major international pharmaceutical company, has a manufacturing plant in Manassas (Prince William County).
