Professor Information

Welcome! We hope you enjoy teaching at our sites.  We think you will have a very rewarding experience teaching at Ft. Myer or the Pentagon.

Please refer to the instructions on getting a one year post pass for yourself, and a vehicle decal for your automobile. Though having both may not guarantee quick access onto Ft. Myer, it should help speed things up at the gate.  It is recommended you give yourself an extra 15 minutes to get through the gate at Ft. Myer.  If you are going to be teaching courses at the Pentagon, they have special instructions as well. Please contact the Military Site Office (MSO) at 703.527.5976 for more details.

Base Education does not ask much of NOVA but they do want the Professors to be aware of a few items. The biggest issue we continue to have is ensuring the classrooms are clean, desks and other items are returned back to their original place and white boards are wiped off at the end of each class day. If you need cleaning supplies, let the MSO know. Please ensure you pick up your initial classroom roster and attendance sheet from your Department Head.  After your initial roster, you may use NOVAConnect to print off your most recent course roster.  Take roll each day you have class. If you have a student who is in your class but not on your roll, contact the MSO immediately. Chances are the student failed to turn in Tuition Assistance (TA) paperwork or some other form of payment. In addition, if you have a student who does not show up by the end of the Drop/Add period, please let the MSO know.

Please, check your NOVA mail daily.  Also you may want to take advance of your site to post course information and details.

A representative of the MSO will contact you prior to your first night of class at the start of each semester. We'll leave a copy of your unofficial classroom roster in your classroom in case you don't have one.  In addition, please pass out any information the MSO may leave for you to give to your class.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at 703.527.5976 or vtovar@nvcc.edu.
